World Book Day 2017 is fast approaching, taking place on Thursday 2nd March, and this year will celebrate 20 years since it’s launch.
The whole idea of the day is to encourage young people to read more, but that doesn’t mean that those of us who already love reading can’t get involved too, and celebrate the great books of the world. There are lots of events taking place around the world, and many (UK) retailers join in to, and offer selected books for £1. You can visit http://www.worldbookday.com/ to find out more, and get some inspiration if you decide to hold an event yourself.
I am going to spend the evening with a good book, and I am setting my students the task of buying one of the books on offer and reading it, then they will have to tell the rest of the class about the book.
