This is the first book in a series called The Witchlands.

Safi and Iseult are Threadsisters, witches bound together in magic, and they both feel like outsiders. Safi is supposed to be a Dommna; a Lady of her Empire, and a rare Truthwitch with the power to tell truth from lies. Iseult is a Threadwitch, with the ability to read the life threads and emotions of everyone around her, and an outcast from her tribe for not being the heir that she was supposed to be.

They must try to keep their magic a secret, because there are people who would kill to use Safi’s power for their own advantage, but it seems her magic is not as secret as they hoped. People are after her, so an elaborate escape plan that had been made by those closest to them is put into action and the girls flee.

But a dangerous Bloodwitch is on their tail, not to mention the navel fleet of a neighbouring Empire, and the girls only allies turn out to be a foreign Prince and his ships crew, and a Monk from Iseults past who suspects that there is more to the girls future than even they know.

With a continent wide true falling apart around them, and the survival of a nation in their hands, the girls become more than they expected or wanted when they ran away to lead a trouble free life hidden from the world.

The second book in the series is called Windwitch, and will be released at some point in 2017.
