Unknown

Title: The Rise of the Red Shadow.

Author: Joseph Lallo.

Year of Publication: 2013 (UK).

Publisher: Create Space (UK).

Website: www.bookofdeacon.com

Format: Available in paperback, an ebook, and an audiobook.

Cost for Paperback (RRP): £5.70 (UK).

Age Range: I suggest from about 8 up, if you’re younger than this I suggest asking your parents first.

This book is an accompanying book in a series called The Book of Deacon.

This book is a prequel to the main books in the series, and follows Lain, more famously called ‘The Red Shadow’. It tells the story of how a young Malthrope grew up to be an infamous assassin, and just what can drive someone to become so deadly.

It was really good to find a backstory to a character who is so mysterious in the main books, and has made me like the character even more. I think I like it because it has themes of acceptance and prejudice that are sadly existent in the real world, so in a time when Europe is closing it’s doors to outsiders in need I think it is a subject that needs talking about.
