Many modern fantasies have routes in ancient mythology and legends from around the world, and these two books are pretty good at telling you where they come from.

The first one is about Celtic myths and legends, it’s very thick, and detailed, so not one for the faint hearted.

The second is a more general one of mythology from around the world, and is much easier to read than the first one
